Role Purpose:
As the operational manager for a team of approximately 15+ associates, you foster collaboration and leadership by guiding the team in technical, scientific, and project management aspects, while engaging with partners in Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product (DP) development and analytical laboratories. You oversee the technical and scientific analytical strategy for DS & DP process development, provide accurate demand and capacity planning for the team, and ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, you support team members in their professional growth through mentoring, coaching, and providing opportunities for development.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities

You will lead an Analytical Expert Team in our Process Analytical Sciences Development department at our TRD Biologics site in Austria / Schaftenau, dealing with projects from candidate selection to launch.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operational manager for approx. 15+ associates Collaboration and Leadership: Fosters inspiration and guides the team in technical, scientific and project management aspects. Engages with partners in DS and DP development, as well as with analytical laboratories and pursues excellent relationships with other key teams and departments. Analytical strategy: Oversees technical and scientific analytical strategy for DS & DP process development and related analytical method development. Resource Planning: Provides accurate demand and capacity planning Technical and scientific excellence: Provides scientific expertise to our partners and guides the team in translating large multisource data sets to advanced process and product knowledge Portfolio support: Coordinates project support with needed flexibility and in alignment with global portfolio needs. Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and supports submissions applying principles described e.g. in relevant guidelines. People Development: Supports team members in their professional growth, both scientifically and in project management, through mentoring, coaching, and providing opportunities for development.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of scientists, with a focus on achieving team and organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Technical and Scientific Expertise: Strong experience in biotechnological CMC development
  • People Development: Commitment to the growth and development of team members, with a track record of successful mentoring and coaching.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.

Desirable requirements

  • University degree (PhD or equivalent is desirable) in life sciences
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership position with successful performance and track record of leading teams

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is €73,1129.90/year (on a full time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies
